How do I create a resume?

Click "New Resume" on the dashboard, give it a name, and start filling in sections. The live preview on the right updates as you type. When you're ready, export to PDF or Word.

Can I import an existing resume?

Yes. Click "Import Resume" on the dashboard and select a PDF or DOCX file. AI will parse your resume into structured sections (requires Pro). You can also create a resume from scratch for free.

What is an ATS score?

ATS (Applicant Tracking System) software scans resumes for keywords that match a job description. Your ATS score shows how well your resume matches a specific job posting. A higher score means a better chance of getting past the automated filter.

How do I score my resume against a job?

Open a resume, click "+ Add Job" in the header, and paste a job description. The app will score your resume and provide an AI review with specific feedback and suggested improvements.

How does Pro work?

AI features like resume tailoring, ATS scoring, skill gap analysis, cover letter generation, and resume import require a Pro license. Pro is a one-time purchase — no subscription, no credits to track.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. When you first use an AI feature, a 7-day free trial of Pro starts automatically — no credit card required. After the trial, you can purchase Pro to keep using AI features.

What happens if I don't have Pro?

All non-AI features work without Pro: resume editing, live preview, PDF/DOCX export, opening resumes in your email app, and backup/restore. Only AI-powered features require Pro.

What happens to my Pro license if I reinstall or get a new computer?

Pro is tied to a license key, not your device or an account. Open Pro settings in the app and copy your key somewhere safe (a password manager or notes app works well). If you reinstall or move to a new Mac or PC, paste that key into 'Restore from a key' and Pro is restored. There's no account or email to recover it with, so copy your key right after purchasing.

How do I export my resume?

Open a resume in the editor and click "Export PDF" or "Export DOCX" in the header. Both formats use a clean, single-column layout with standard fonts — optimized for ATS compatibility.

Can I email my resume directly from the app?

Yes. Click "Send Email" in the editor, fill in the recipient and message, then click "Open in Mail App." Resumi saves a PDF, reveals it in Finder/Explorer, and opens your default mail app with the message pre-filled — just drag the PDF in to attach it.

Where is my data stored?

All your resumes, job descriptions, and scores are stored locally on your Mac in the app's sandboxed container. Nothing is synced to the cloud.

How do I back up my resumes?

Click "Export Backup" in the dashboard footer. This saves all your resumes, job descriptions, and scores as a single JSON file. To restore, click "Restore from Backup" and select the file.
